Benazir Bhutto


Benazir Bhutto is born on the 21st of June, 1952 in Karachi in the province of Sindh. She died on the 27th of December, 2007 in Rawalpindi in the province of Punjab.
Benazir Bhutto was a politician in Pakistan. Between the years from 1988 to 1996 she was prime minister. When she returned from Dubai in 2007 she should became leader of the political opposition in Pakistan
two weeks before she take office she was murdered.

She was the daughter of the former prime minister of Paktistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Her mother was a Kurd from Esfahan. She studied in different universities in the western world, Harvard for example. As her father visited New York for a important konference in 1971 , she was his assistent.
After the study she moves back to Pakistan. Their father was set down 1977 , was arrested 2 years later and was hung. When they in 1984 after
Great Britain moved she became there in exile a leader of the party of her father. On the 2nd of December it was sworn in as the first head of the government in the Islamic world.
Bhuttos government was dissolved in 1990 on the basis of corruption reproaches. These reproaches
if Bhutto denied, they also never led to an accusation in Pakistan. A court in Switzerland
however, she condemned in 2003 in absence to six months of prison and to the restitution of 11.9 million US dollars
to the state Pakistan against which it inserted appeal. Their successor in the office became Nawaz Sharif. In 1993 Bhutto was re elected
and three years later her government once more because of corruption reproaches by the president Farooq Leghari distraught.


Bhutto aimed since 2007 once more at the office of the prime minister. In January, 2008 parliamentary elections should be held.
The most important questions concerned the legality of the reelection president Musharraf on the 6th of October, 2007 and the question, whether Musharraf,
the army boss at the same time is, with the presidential election might have lined up generally. The terror network al-Qaeda had with posters
against a possible return Bhuttos threatened. Benazir Bhutto swept on the 18th of October, 2007 after eight years of exile again in her hometown
Karachi back, against the opposition of president Musharraf.

On the 27th of December, 2007, two weeks before the planned appointment for the parliamentary election on the 8th of January, 2008, Bhutto became after one
Election campaign event in Rawalpindi victim of an attempt.
