St. Patrick's Day

The St. Patrick's Day falls on the 17th of March every year and is a celebration of one of the most famous Irish saints.

St. Patrick was a orphan child which was taken to Ireland and he had to work on farms. Soon he escaped to France to become a Bishop but he went back to Ireland and then he began to convert the people with no religious beliefs and told them all about God and the story of the Bible. The people say that he drove all the snakes away from Ireland after he performed a special sermon. That being one of his miracles.

On St. Patrick's Day all the people wear green and in some cities, like in Chicago, they color the rivers green. Some sorts of beer are made green too but not the Irish Guinness. The green beer was invented by students as a gag.
First the St. Patrick's Day was only celebrated in Ireland but today the St. Patrick's Day is very popoular and now people all across the world celebrate it as well. In some big citys are very big parades and the biggest parades are in Dublin, New York, Boston, New Orleans, Chicago, Manchester and Savannah. On these parades the people on the parades color the other people who watch green. All are very happy and drink the whole day green beer or Guinness. The Guinness is'nt colored green because it's the traditional Irish beer.

  1. Nice article about St. Patrick's day! It has the right length, so I enjoyed reading it.
But if I remember right, the "people wiothout religion" had(!) religions, just others.
