Guinness Beer

Guinness is the most favourite beer in Ireland. It's a dark beer type (Stout), which was brewed first in Dublin, 1759 from Sir Arthur Guinness. The Guinness brewery is an important employer in Dublin, and the beer is international known. For every country in the world, where Guinness Beer is exported, there exist different recipes. Today, Guinness is part of the drinks-concern Diageo and has its headquarter in London. Guinness is also a famous sponsor for most different events worldwide and in Ireland, like the first Rugby league, which is now named Guinness Premiership.

The types of Guinness Beer
There are 5 famous, different types of Guinness, they differ from each other in their alcohol concentration, their recipe and their packages. The most important types of Guinness beer are Guinness Draught with 4,2 percent alcohol, Guinness Extra Stout, whith a recipe, which is very similar to the original, that's why it's also called Guinness Original. Very popular is also Guinness Foreign Extra with an alcohol concentration of 5 to 8 percent, it is popular in other countries than Ireland and is responsible for 40% of the global sale.
Also widespread - specially among young people - are the mixed beers, like the Liverpool Kiss, a mix between Guinness and cassis, a liqueur of currant, which tastes much sweeter and less harsh than Guinness Beer.
