Cold War by Lea Seik

In year 1945, the Second world war was over. The USA and the Soviet Union were partners, but soon, they came in a conflict with each other.
In the very same year, straight through Germany, there was a long wall, which divided Germany in 1949in the east part, the “German Democratic Republic“ (DDR) and in the west part, the “Federal Republic“ (BRD). In East Europe, there has been the communism under the command of “Josef Stalin“; he was one of the most radical and convinced communists. And on the west side, there was the capitalism, which was focused on making capital and money as much as possible . These both forms of governments differed themself in their intention. They argued a lot and wanted to expand over the other side.
The capitalism worked out well because of the
good economic system. Everyone had a financial independence and could work as much as he wanted. In the east part, the population hadn't any chance of developing further, because the communism regime tried to handle the political system that everyone got the same and wanted to obliberate the poverty and the caste system. But without any concurrence, you can't survive because every step forward of getting a better life is stopped by the government. So sometimes, the workers and people stopped working and wanted to have rights, which had the people on the west side. A big problem was, that nearly every person was spied by unknown persons from the regime. That began, when the war was at the end and the communist system came into power, a lot of persons ran away, because of their scepticism.
In 1948, the USA had no chance of taking care of the population of West-Berlin and started helping these people with an air bridge, that should bring the food and other vital things to them. Today, it's known as “raisin bomber“.
That was a quick overview about the situation, when the war began.
In 1949, a military alliance, called “NATO“ (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), was built by the western countries, under the command of the USA, and should proctect these countries from the “Warschauer Pakt“, the alliance on the east side. They threatened themself with her arsenals and were in a state of inner conflict for years. They increased the weamponry of themself and tried to put the head on the enemy. The population suffered from this situation. There was always the afraid that one of these sides drop one of their atomic bombs or used their weapons.
In the 1970s, they decided to defuse (entschärfen) the situation and to reach an agreement for restoring law and order in the states.
At the beginning of the 80th, Ronald Reagon moved into the White House and with him, a cold, strict political wind.
In 1991, the “Warschauer Pakt“ disbanded because of the collapse of the commusim regime. Some of the east-states became a member of the “NATO“.

  1. Very nice historical entry. I see that you're interested in political issues :-) But what's with the 1960s? It would have been helpful if you've written something about the Cuba crisis because this was the climax of the Cold War.
There are some little mistakes according to the orthography (I can delete my correction after you've corrected your post, if you want):
    1) Soviet Union, Sowjetunion is German!
    2) communism (=Kommunismus), communist system (kommunistisches System), check this!
3)"In the 70th", do you mean in the 1970s?
4)"finance independence", do you mean "financial independence"?
