The Royal Air Force ( RAF )

The Royal Air Force is the Air Force of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. When you say Royal Air Force it also can be the Air Force of Australia, New Zeeland and Canada. The Royal Air Force has 46.000 soldiers and of these soldiers are 2.500 the reserve.

The RAF was founded on the 1st April 1918 and it was the first Air Force of the world. It was founded of the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) and the Royal Flying Corps (RFC). The RFC was founded on the 13. May 1912 because of a royal order. The RAF was not only used in Wars, it was used in the friendly times between the Wars for transporting the post and goods. The RAF is divided into the Fighter Command, the Bomber Command, the Transport Command and some other Commands. The Bomber Command plans and does the strategically bombing acts of the RAF.In the World War 2 the RAF was responsible for very much bombings. They bombed a lot of fabrics in Germany and they were responsible for the destruction of Dresden. The RAF was two times in Afghanistan War, the first time was in 1991 in the second Golf War and the second time was in 2003 in the third Golf War. In both Wars they had over 100 planes and helicopters and in the third Golf War they only lost one plane and this was a very big disaster because a American Patriot-Rocket hits a Tornado GR4 on his return. In the future the RAF wants to replace all their planes and helicopters because they want to be equal to the US-Air Force.
