Footy

Australian rules football (also called Footy or Aussie rules) is a game played like a mixture of Soccer and Rugby. It's the most famous sport in Australia.
It had first been played 1859 in Melbourne, Victoria.
One Footy game consists of four quarters and they're all about 20 minutes long (Over time happens when the game is close and the ball had been out of play a few times.)
Half-time is also about 20 minutes. The teams consists of 36 players (18 at each team) and four subsitutes.
They're playing on a ground which looks like an oval, their ball is called football, it's like an oval shape.
At each end of the ground there are four posts, two really tall ones and two that are a bit smaller.
If the ball is kicked between the two big ones the team gets six points.
If it goes between one big and one smaller post you get one point.
You can hand ball it or kick it, but throwing isn't allowed.

One year of football is devided in three mainly seasons, the pre-season, competitive-sean
son and off-season.

Pre-Season:
Pre-Season starts at October and ivolves training for about 14-15 meetings a week.
There's some sprintaining, aerobic conditioning, resistance training, game theory session, skill training, recovery meeting and also attendance and physiotherapy sessions.
Often there're also some
individiual training sessions for players.

Competitve-Season:
It's the time while teams have to play, usually one play a week, it's mostly at weekend but also possible at monday or friday night.

Off-Season:
The Off-Season is for about six or eight weeks, there's sometimes a little training but it's rather a real break for them.
