-The Australian eating culture-
In Australia the people like eating meat and fresh fish. Best they enjoy their dishes under free sky with a comfortable barbecue. They prefer Take-aways instead of expensive restaurants and eat with pleasure "healthy" Fast-food. The Australian food is multicultural, because there is a lot of foreign influence.
The breakfast in Australia can be a fatty thing. In the outback the people eat with pleasure small sausage, bacon and eggs for the breakfast. Who has no time for such an extensive meal in the morning, there reaches butter and Vegemite (dark brown Australian food paste made from yeast extract).
In the country the people eat Pies for the breakfast. Besides, it concerns full puff pastry around no cake, but around one with meat or vegetables.
At noon the Aussies procure for themselves her lunch with a Take-away. Everybody must act there in the bar and call his order. Afterwards the visitors of the bar get a number and must wait, until they are called. By this method most restaurants save themselves a service and are more favorable therefore.
Popular Take-aways at the midday are Fish & chips restaurants. A Fisherman's Basket is recommended, because he still contains Calamari, shrimps, cancer balls and mussels beside the Fish of the Day (mostly shark). However, for the small hunger it does the customary serving Fish & chips. In addition are passed to sauce Tartar and fresh lemons.
In the most Take-aways there is the ‚ Aussie Burger’. The freshly prepared hamburgers are served with chips and taste much better than the Big Mac of McDonald’s. Moreover, the Australians shut with pleasure‚ Subway' or get sushi for the lunch. Occasionally there are tasty snacks in the Bakery’s.
If Aussies invite their friends to the dinner, the comfortable barbecue mostly takes place under free sky. They love to have a barbecue, however, also at the beach/lake/river. Beef, lamb and vegetables are the main ingredients for a successful barbecue. If the meat is dry, the Aussies add Gravy.
Restaurants are expensive in Australia. Who orders a tail steak saves a lot of money. Mostly you must pay only the steak and then you can select between free additions like rice, vegetables, salad or chips.
In some bars no alcohol is served, because they don't have a license. Who would like to drink a glass of wine or beer to the dinner, can bring in „BYO (Bring your own) “-restaurants his own drinks. Consumption of alcohol is permitted in Australia only from 18 years.
So the Australian eat a lot of fatty things :-) That's not healthy... But nevertheless I liked your post very much! :-)

Very interesting article! Unfortunately there's much meat, but "Vegemite" looks so tasty, I hope we can buy it in Germany, too!
