The Vodafone McLaren F1 team is very pupular in Great Britain. Not only because their is their home also because there are two drivers who were born in great britain. The drivers are Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
Now I'll tell you a little bit about the history of McLaren. McLaren was founded in 1965 by Bruce McLaren. He came from New Zealand. Since 1966, McLaren took part in every Formula 1 race and there is no end in sight.
McLaren is behind Ferrari the succesfullst team and till today they hold the record with 15 victories in 1 saison. (1988: 15 victories in 16 Grand Prix, Quote 93,8 %).
Bruce McLaren died in 1970 at a test drive for the North American CanAm series.
McLaren had some of the best drivers. They had Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Mika Häkkinen, David Coulthard, Gerhard Berger.
The best driver was Ayrton Senna. He got the most wins for McLaren.
Today the team Chef of McLaren is Martin Whitmarsh. Till 2008 it was Ron Dennis. Ron Dennis still is taking part in McLaren. The drivers are: Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button. The test driver is Gary Paffet, who won the DTM 2010.
McLaren has got more than 200 workers.
In the end I have to say that McLaren is a very strong team in Formula 1 and it has got a great history. I hope that this year McLaren will drive in front of the field. Oh and at the top of my post you can see the Team Logo and the racecar for 2011.
