Sherlock Holmes




Sherlock Holmes is a popular fictional character made-up by Arthur Conan Doyle.






Doyle wrote a lot of detective-stories with that character and created a world of an independently detective with a sense of accurate observations.
Personal description of Sherlock Homes:


Name: Sherlock Holmes

Location: Bakerstr. 221b, London

Occupation: Consulting detective

Period of his appearance: 19-20th century



Appearance: Sherlock Holmes is represented as a large man (ca. 1,83m), slim with a sqare face and a jerky nose. He has black up to brown hair and gray eyes.
Now his deerstalker-hat is a mark for every detective in stories of movies or books.

Best friend: Dr. Watson, a long-established man who always takes care of Holmes and they lived in a flat together for a special time.

Special features: Sherlock Holmes has a great sense of seeing the smallest details that will help him with a case.

Dark sides: Sherlock Holmes is a great smoker and you can see him with a whistle in some pictures. In the second novel was described that Holmes likes drugs like cocaine. In some stories later Watson helps him to stop consuming drugs. Holmes always likes to break law like burglary.

Arthur Conan Doyle wrote 56 short stories and four novels about his great detective-figure.
There are the titles of the novels:

First novel: A study in scarlet
Second novel: The sign of the four
Third novel: The hound of the Baskervilles
Fourth novel: The valley of fear

A lot of stories were filmed but in the 21th century one movie of Sherlock Holmes facinated the world. It was shown in the year 2009 and it´s not based of the original story, but it was in a high qualety. The movie : SHERLOCK HOLMES with Robert Downey jr. and Jude Law.
