Harold Edward Holt by Lea Seik

Harold Holt, a man, who disappeared in an inexplicable way. I want to find out, who he was and what reason brought him into death.










Harold Holt was the 17th australian prime minister and took up one's post at the 22 January 1966.
Harold Holt was born at the 5th August 1908. His parents were teachers and divorced, when he was ten. He attended to a College in Melbourne, were he studied law and finished his carrer with a lot of awards.
At the beginning of the 1930th, he became a member of the United Australia Party and an important politician.
5 years later, they population voted him into the House of Representatives.
In 1940, he entered into the australian army and became a short time later the secretary of labor.
In the following years, he got to know his wife Zara. They married and Holt adopted their three kids.
Between 1949 and 1956, Holt was voted again of being a minister and took over the position of the minister of immigration. He wanted to change the white australian policy, which was an australian, racist politic. It's aim was to prevent the immigration of non-white-people in Australia.
Then everything went on fast. In 1966, he became the prime minister. This office took up a lot of time and put him into stress situations.
At the 17th of december 1967, he died. He wanted to swim at a Beach near Portsea, south of Melbourne. After he was in the water, nobody had seen him anymore. After a company of divers crossed the water and came out with nothing, the government declared his death. His corpse was never founded by someone.
A lot of theories were created by the people. They rumoured about a suicide or a simulated suicide of fleeing away with his wife and there were people who thought that he was an agent of China and were taken away by a submarine. But no one knows, what happened with him.

My own opinion:
This story is very horrible and sad. But probably there are some details which give us some food for thought. The most interesting thing is: What killed him and if he alived, what happened with Harold Holt? A lot of scientists occupied themselves with Harold Holt. Well, I want to have a closer look on the arguments that he killed himself or feigned his death.
I think these theories are totally nonsense and baseless. Herold Edward Holt was a good swimmer and he liked it to go fishing in the sea and the ocean. One of his most favourite hobbys was to dive in the water between the fishes. What we can see is, that he loved the ocean and hadn't any reason of killing himself in the water. In my opinion, it was "just" an accident which ended deadly.
