Québec

Québec is the biggest province of Canada (if you look at the size of the area). It has the biggest ratio of French-speaking canadians. About 30 per cent of the 7,500,000 people (2006) are French/French-speaking. It's in the east of Canada and it's next to the famous "Hudson Bay", a large body of saltwater.
The majority of the inhabitants (90%) are Catholics. The biggest cities in Québec are Montréal (look at Pascal's post) and Québec (Québec City). At last I just want to say a few words about the hockey team. Well, currently there is no Quebecian hockey team, but from 1972 untill 1995 the "Nordiques de Québec" represented Québec in the WHA (World Hockey Assosiation) and the NHL (National Hockey League). Since 1995 the team plays in Denver, Colorado and is now called Colorado Avalanche. In Québec mostly are long, cold winters, which makes itself a good holiday destination for skiers.

  2. Haha Jonathan, what a comment :-)

Nice entry Lukas which gives briefly information about Quebec... I thought that Quebec is totally "French", I am wondering that there is "only" 30% French speaking population, I've learned something new...
