Elizabeth Alexandra Mary is the queen of the United Kingdom. She was born on 21. April 1926 in London and she is queen of the UK since 2. June 1953 after her father George VI. died. Her mom was Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (as known as "Queen Mum"). She died in 2002. 1947 she married Sir Philip Mountbatten, the duke of Edinburgh. Her official title is "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith", but since 1952 her short title is "her majesty the Queen". She has four children, Charles Philip Arthur George (Prince of Wales, born in 1948), Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise (Princess Royal, born in 1950), Andrew Albert Christian Edward (Duke of York, born in 1960) and Edward Anthony Richard Louis (Earl of Wessex, born in 1964). Currently, she lives in Buckingham Palace in London. Elizabeth is the head of the british navy, the army and the airforce. She is the second longest ruling british monarch.
